Giving Back to the Greater Long Beach Community
After serving on the Memorial Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors for two, six-year terms, Jim Gray finds it difficult to narrow down the highlights.
“When you get involved with the medical care family, as I call it, you’re exposed to many different kinds of opportunities. You get to help ensure the continuation of very high-quality care,” Jim says.
For Jim, MemorialCare’s importance in the community can’t be understated. He is inspired by the hospital’s leading commitment to serving the needs of the greater Long Beach community. To help support that work, Jim and his wife, Gail, have created a charitable remainder unitrust, a type of future gift that pays income to them.
“I hope our gift helps MemorialCare to cover the tremendous amount of what I call the ‘unreimbursed charity work’ they provide for so many citizens in Long Beach,” he says.
Jim and Gail encourage others in the community to consider how they could make an impact with their own gift.
“You can help support your family, friends, and community with the very best care,” Jim says.
“There are many different ways to go about making a gift. Now’s the time to get involved and learn about your options.”
